your weeks in maths & physics, january 9-13

back to school... oh boy!

ib physics grade 12
we'll close the topic of electromagnetic induction for now, this week. we will move forward on pages 135-148 in hamper's book, the extention of the waves subject.
ib physics grade 11
we will learn the following concepts this week: free oscillations, forced oscillations, resonance, damping, phase. before that, though, we will work on examples in simple harmonic motion and understand the energy changes involved.
ib maths grade 12
we'll get back into the groove of differentiation and have our test on thursday; after that, it's integration!
ib maths grade 11
sign diagrams, the reciprocal function, asympototes & inverse functions are on our menu this week. expect a test by friday.
igcse maths 10
book chapter 25, sections E,F,G & H, that's pages 515-524. probability becoming theoretical.

review session ib math sl 12 - matrices (part two)

your weeks in maths & physics until break

8 more days of school, which means 9 math classes and 10 or 11 physics classes until the break. this is the plan for them:

ib maths sl grade 12
i plan to finish our look on exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric differentiation this calender year. this would leave us with integration and some further statistics for january and february, with our first investigation, too. in any case, we are aiming for a test either on monday december 19 or tuesday, dec 20.

ib maths sl grade 11
logarithmic functions and exponential functions test today; besides that, we should be done with functions until next tuesday, where we will have a little test as our last activity before the break.

igcse maths core grade 10
we will work on probability for the rest of the time we have, which is 8 classes - besides today's test on sets & venn diagrams. it will be a traditional book chapter (25, pages 506-532).

your week in maths & physics, nov 14-18

math grade 12 ib sl students, we shall cover 18 D,E & F ... please do some reading and work on these during the week.

math grade 10 igcse students should be looking into review sets 8a&b (pages 187-189), review sets 4a&b (107-110), and review sets 9a&b (206-208). test on thursday on presentations and these review sets.

math grade 11 ib sl students will have a homework quiz on review sets a&b of chapter 3 tomorrow, november 15, and then we shall move on to logarithms. 


physics grade 12 ib sl students will be busy with internal assessment and presentations.

physics grade 11 ib sl students will write a lab design in class tomorrow, after some presentation. we'll also have presentations on the topics distributed last friday, those will be on wednesday.
