an important look at the very last chapters, distribution with discrete and continiuous data. we should finish them by the end of the week. please don't miss any classes.

pure review, this week with past exam papers. our current focus will be on paper 2. tomorrow, class ends at 3 pm for all but promita.

igcse maths grade 10

current papers and deadlines: core has received a paper one and will have to hand it in today. they will receive a new core paper 3 today, to be handed in on wednesday, april 6.

extended will receive a paper one today, to be finished within the class and handed in by tomorrow, april 5.

ib maths grade 11

lines and planes in spaces - an intense chapter, very important for the ib exams. hope to finish it before the break. 13a is this week's homework.

ib physics grade 11

we'll complete the nuclear physics bit this week. there will be a practical on thursday, too. the next test will be on monday, april 11, most likely.

if you're from grade 11, you can retake quadratics, binomial expansion or matrices.

vectors en masse. you should be able to do all exercises in 12A-D. indeed! a hw quiz at the end of the week is waiting...

we'll dedicate this week to volumes of revolution (pretty fast) and the review sets. a test will follow on friday (a rather short one), and there will be derivation in it, as well.

ib physics grade 11

atomic and nuclear physics - today some stuff on atomic physics and the excel on nuclear physics. i hope to end the subject by friday, and we'll have a test on monday, march 28.

ib physics grade 12

focus on finishing the practical part, internal assessments. that will mark the whole tuesday session, and if necessary, the thursday session. wednesday is reserved for review.

igcse maths grade 10

we'll continue our work on different papers. extended students will receive a new paper 4 today, core students should finish their paper 3 today, and they'll soon receive new papers 1 & 5.

homework is the mastery of 21d and 21e1&2. review set over the weekend, test on tuesday, march 8.

ib physics grade 11

thursday we have our presentations from chapter 6; we'll teach them to 8th grade kids, so make sure that you know your audience and react to it. we'll start chapter 7 today, and probably do some work on chapter 6 still, on friday. logs are suspended.

igcse maths 10

we should be wrapping up work on the paper 3 & 4 you guys have in hands. you will receive papers 5 & 2 respectively, today. please always have your material with you; i'll have to note those who don't bring them, and it will have a consequence in the term grade.

ib physics grade 12

before our grand review and lab work, we'll put a lid on chapter 8. don't forget presentations tomorrow, tuesday.

igcse maths

we're starting with a new phase in our classes, a phase completely focused on the igcse exams. the teaching of some new material (almost exclusively for extended candidates) will go hand in hand with the mocks from last month and other past exams and specimen papers we will be looking at in detail. the completion of these papers will be a main element in the grading process, and the few tests we will have in this last term will be mocks. double classes will be seperate, friday classes will be every second week, but for twice the time. only on tuesdays shall we meet as a complete class. extended students will have a class monday right after 3 pm, starting today. mostly, your homework will be the completion of papers, as announced in class or on this blog. stay tuned!

review on binomial expansion today, little test on it tomorrow. matrices is our new subject, which we will introduce on thursday. no hw quiz.

let's integrate! today we'll introduce anti-derivation and you'll do some exercises while i talk to a few students individually about their internals. hw quiz on chapter 21 b and c.

chapter 6 will be divided up into parts, as will be announced in class. details will be discussed there and then announced here, for you to remember it.

igcse maths

homework quiz today, and then will continue with some more probability action. tuesday and wednesday will be dedicated to mock preperation. no homework for the week, for that reason.

ib physics grade 11

we'll round up the waves phenomena presentations today; we will do some problem solving on thursday, followed by the beginning of topic 5, electric currents. don't forget your log for the week.

ib physics grade 12

tuesday will be a day of presentations: bilal twice (great physicist and green house effect), and promita once (fossil fuels). we'll work further on different energy sources and their mathematics. wednesday and thursday shall be review days for the mock exams.

ib maths grade 11

transformations test today, and continuation of quadratic functions. that's what we'll do this week, and the homework parallel to it is 6 A,B,C & D.

ib maths grade 12

presentations today and tomorrow, then back to mock exam preparation, which we'll extend to friday. no homework for the week.

we're back with the retests. i'll take a few days to correct all the tests from december, but some of you might want to start retaking something already.

if you want to retake a test, please leave a comment below, with name, grade level and name of test to be retaken. if you do so, it is binding - you should come. 

you may want to use the opportunity to clear doubts before said retest. i'm available every day after class, minus wednesday (retest day) and friday.

ib math sl grade 11

we'll have another look at functions this week. the more we look at it, the more we shall understand! this time it's about which changes in a function modifies which parts of it. a little repeat from last years graph transformations. this should be finished within the week, and a mini-test should pop up next tuesday, january 18. the hw quiz on friday will focus on 5 B1, B2 and B3.

ib math sl grade 12

it's on to more differentiation; logarithmic, exponential and trigonometric derivatives are still unknown to us; you might want to have a general look at chapters 19 and 20, parallel to the classes. on thursday and friday next week, we'll allocate time to prepare for the mocks. the hw quiz on friday will have a question each from 19 A, B and C.

ib physics grade 11

wave phenomena is on our menu. we'll do this topic differently: i will find us some time today for research, since i'll have each one of you presenting a subtopic in topic eleven of the syllabus. standing waves will be presented by chris, the doppler effect by tim, diffraction by nino, resolution by yana and sara, and polarization by daniel and dennis. all of these will exclude exercises (only examples are desired).

igcse maths grade 10

we'll start out the new year a little "lighter", hopefully. probability (chapter 25) will be our topic for a minimum of two weeks. we'll have a couple of days of review next week, for the mock exams. exercises from 25 B,C and D will be in the hw quiz next monday.

ib physcis grade 12

hi you four. we'll split up topic 8, a perfect review topic, to be presented creatively. we'll take some time for research and preperation tomorrow (no great physicist presentation), as follows: aidin will take over energy degradation and power generation, max will do world energy sources, promita will present fossil fuel power production, and bilal shall be our expert on the greenhouse effect. we'll do the other topics together; follow the syllabus outline (which can be found as a link on this page), and make sure everything is covored.
